How it works ?
From registration to discovery, here’s your journey with IASC!

Register & Team Up
Participants are encouraged to form teams (2+ students) for the campaign. Don’t have a partner? No worries—STEM & Space will help connect you with others to create a team.

Train like a pro
Get comprehensive training to understand the project goals and master Astrometrica software. We provide videos, guides, and live sessions—everything you need to start hunting!

Hunt Asteroids
Receive fresh telescope data sets (e.g., from Pan-STARRS) and analyze them for moving objects over a 4-week campaign. Spot an asteroid, and you’re on your way to a discovery!

Report Findings
Submit your observations with guidance from your assigned mentor via WhatsApp. They’ll support you every step of the way to ensure your finds reach the Minor Planet Center.

Earn Recognition
Active participants receive a prestigious joint certificate from NASA, IASC, and STEM & Space. Plus, if your asteroid gets numbered, you could name it!
